My plan for the project is to use my girlfriend's two sphynx cats as the subjects. I want the real footage to be of them, and the animation side to be their point of view, whether that be their dreams or just how they are interpreting the world. I think using the sphynx cats will be good for animation as they already look kind of freaky and have very distinctive features which I’m hoping I’ll be able to use to my advantage. Though I am a little bit worried about trying to get them to cooperate for the real life footage.
Some ideas I have are them climbing on the counter in real life be them climbing a mountain in animation. Or them playing with each other being an epic battle, or playing with their toys be fighting a giant monster.
I’m thinking that the move from the real world to the animated world could be triggered by catnip, so it has a tripping kind of feel, but I’m not set on the idea and don’t want it to be cliche.
As I haven’t done any animation at this point and I haven’t done the labs yet either, I’m hoping that what I'm picturing in my head isn’t too ambitious. I want to have lots of color. I think I’ll be able to achieve this by having some scenes just have small movements like the mouths moving and the occasional blink. But I also want to get some good action in too
